Utilisation of waste material in hot climates

Abstract

Also in the third world the utilization of refuse comprises the use of waste water and dust in agriculture and forestry.
At present times waste is re-used only in small quantities in default of public organisations.
As waste water and dust are carriers of plant nutrients and rudiments of raw humus their field of application is indicated because of energetic and financial advantages in agricultural production and soil amelioration. If in case of inadequate waste quality adversely effects to the agriculture products are possible, which may cause diseases to human beings and animals, an utilization in forestry can be recommended.
Wood is an important natural product and often the only energy for heat and power in warm climates. Data is presented for quantities and qualities as well as for quality demands with regard to agricultural needs.
The author refers to a Special System of waste water re-use in forestry.

Abfallverwertung in warmen Klimaten

Abfallverwertung in der 3. Welt umfaßt Abwasser- und Mülleinsatz im Landbau und in der Fortwirtschaft.
Abfälle werden gegenwärtig zumeist wegen mangelnder kommunaler Entsorgungsorganisationen in nur sehr begrenztem Umfang genutzt. Als Träger von Pflanzennährstoffen und Humusvorstufen ist die Heranziehung auch aus energetischen und Kostengründen zur Pflanzenproduktion und Bodenverbesserung sinnvoll.
Falls wegen minderer Abfallqualität Gefährdungen für die der menschlichen und tierischen Ernährung dienenden Pflanzen zu erwarten sind, kann eine Verwertung in der Forstwirtschaft empfohlen werden. Holz i s t wichtiger Rohstoff und oftmals einziger Energieträger (Holzkohle) in warmen Klimaten.
Es werden Mengen- und Qualitätsangaben und Qualitätsanforderungen des Landbaues an Abfallstoffe mitgeteilt. Auf ein besonderes System der Abwasserverwertung im Forst wird hingewiesen.
