Objectives and strategies of the Dhauladhar Project in Himachal Pradesch (India)

Abstract

The Dhauladhar Project in Himachal Pradesh aims at the ecological rehabilitation of the area as well as the economical uplift of the local population by an integrated approach. It is considered as a model repeatable in areas of similar conditions along the western Himalayas. It is intended, to develop methods as examples, which proove good cooperation between the administration and the local population in the planning and execution of developmental measures. This process is supported by an extension System based on trust and confidence.

Zielsetzung in und Strategie des Dhauladhar Projektes in Himachal Pradesch (Indien)

Das Dhauladhar Projekt im indischen Staat Himachal Pradesch hat mit seinem integrierten Ansatz sowohl die ökologische Rehabilitation des Gebietes als auch die Verbesserung der wirtschaftlichen Situation der einheimischen Bevölkerung zum Ziel. Es wird als Modell für vergleichbare Gegenden des westlichen Himalayas betrachtet und soll exemplarisch Methoden entwickeln, die eine Zusammenarbeit zwischen Behörden und einheimischer Bevölkerung bei der Planung und Durchführung von Entwicklungsmaßnahmen ermöglichen. Der Prozeß, notwendige Maßnahmen vorzuschlagen, zu testen und aufeinander abzustimmen, wird dabei von einem Beratungssystem unterstützt, das auf zwischenmenschliche Beziehungen aufbaut.
